We are delighted to share that we have received a National Lottery award of £9980 from The National Lottery Community Fund for our upcoming Clay Club project!
Clay Club is our new, weekly daytime ceramics session created for adults living in the Wigan Borough to get creative with clay and develop enterprise skills. Attendees will develop their creativity over a series of workshops and learn ceramics skills to produce products to sell that will fund the club in the future, making this a project with longevity that will become a staple of our programme. After running our Pottery Night for 6 years, we’ve identified a need for a daytime ceramics session that we hope will reduce social isolation and improve the mental health of attendees as well as creating a more accessible pottery class for those who need it!
Louise Robson, Creative Director said:
“Thanks to National Lottery players, this grant means that we can widen access to our ceramics activity to adults who may not be able to afford our evening classes. We’ve seen how powerful creating with clay can be in improving mental health and wellbeing, and we’re looking forward to bringing together a group of people to reap the benefits of it. This will make a big difference to people’s lives.”
We’re really excited about this idea coming to life and we can’t thank The National Lottery Community Fund and National Lottery Players enough for their support!
We will be revealing more about this project in the near future but in the meantime, sign up to our mailing list to receive all the latest news from Everyday!
