Seedling: Growing Community

We're excited to be launching a new project this Spring!

Seedling is a participatory arts project that aims to improve the mental health and wellbeing of people in our local communities.

To achieve this, we're encouraging people to make the most of their immediate surroundings, reconnect with nature and get creative in the process.

Using the Five Ways to Wellbeing, the project aims to inspire you to get active, connect, give, take notice, and learn, through a series of online artist-led workshops and events.

We'll be sharing videos and activity sheets, as well as fostering community through a Facebook group - we'll hopefully be able to do some in-person events later in the year too!

How Do I Get Involved?

We've created a web-page for you to stay up to date on Seedling, and access all of the content we're producing in collaboration with a wonderful team of artists and facilitators.

On the page are videos and activity sheets we've created to help you get started, and we'll be adding videos produced by other artists and facilitators over the coming weeks. Most activities require a small amount of materials - most things you'll be able to find around your house or at your local supermarket for a low cost.

Whether you're 5 or 95 there's something for everyone, and the activities are perfect for getting creative as a family.

Each week we'll also be putting a spotlight on specific videos on our social media pages so keep an eye out for more!

Join Our Community and Share What you Get Up To!

We've set up a Facebook group so that everybody who takes part in the project can share their makes and socialise. Just click here or search 'Wigan STEAM Seedling' on Facebook and request to join.

You can also share what you get up to inspired by our videos by tagging us on social media @wiganSTEAM #seedlingwigan

We really hope you enjoy!
