Pottery for all at Everyday

Over the years at Everyday our Pottery Night has grown massively, and now we have a wonderful community of potters who show up every week and impress us with their skills and creativity.

So far, we've only opened up the pottery room doors to over 18s, but we're excited to share that we've set up two brand new classes for children and families to come and learn the art of pottery too.

After School Pottery Club

After School Pottery Club is our new (much sought-after!) drop-off pottery session for 8-16 year olds.

Running from 4pm until 5.30pm, it's the perfect activity to allow your kids to get creative with clay and unwind after a long day at school. Each session, our skilled instructors will guide them through a relaxed but hands-on session, with a different handbuilding technique each week to tap into their imaginations.

Open to children aged 8-16 years (or under 8s with a paying adult!), our Pottery Club is tailored for both beginners and those with previous experience of pottery.

What will they learn?

  • How to prepare clay for sculpting

  • Pottery tools and their uses

  • How to hand build pinch pots, coil pots or roll clay for slab building!

  • How to attach clay shapes together

  • How to use an array of glazes to bring their creations to life

All equipment is included in the ticket price. Due to the lengthy process of making pottery, two separate sessions are required if you would like to glaze your pottery. You can read more about the pottery process here.

Young Potters provides children and their guardians with a high quality pottery class where you both learn the basics of pottery, from preparing the clay to sculpting, to finally glazing your fired pieces. The class will not only give both parent and child the chance to learn valuable new skills but to also spend time together in a supportive, welcoming environment. Whether you're a pottery novice or have experience, Young Potters is open to all ages and skill levels.

What to Expect:

  • Explore your artistic side together

  • Hands-on experience with professional pottery equipment

  • Expert guidance from seasoned potters

  • Quality family time while crafting

  • Leave with a masterpiece you'll be proud of!

How does Young Potters work?

Young Potters is split into 2 sessions on 2 different dates, to provide time for drying and firing of your makes. You need to be available for both dates advertised to ensure you finish your pottery!

Session 1

  • How to prepare clay for sculpting

  • Pottery tools and their uses

  • How to form clay shapes

  • How to attach clay shapes together

Session 2

Each Young Potters ticket admits one child and one adult. The cost works out at just £11.25 per participant, per session.
