Are you aged 14-19 and interested in music? Want to gain special behind-the-scenes access to Wigan Museum’s collections? Know your Lathums from your Lottery Winners? Consider yourself an expert on Wigan’s music scene?
In collaboration with Museum of Wigan Life's Make Some Noise exhibition, this summer we're running an exciting project involving silent disco headphones, maps, and a whole lot of music! Undertake the role of curator, historian, and music journalist as you work with Everyday’s creative team and Wigan Museum’s heritage staff, to create a musical walking tour of Wigan.
Named 'Make Some More Noise', this project is a brilliant opportunity to try something different, but will also give you experience to add to your CV, as you work towards producing the finished musical experience and launching it with an exciting event (the silent disco headphones are involved *hint hint*).
While this project is all about the music, we won't be asking you to play instruments, sing, or perform (unless you want to!) so please don’t let that put you off.
As a participant in Make Some More Noise, you will attend workshops at the Museum of Wigan Life on:
Monday 31st July - 1pm - 3pm
Monday 7th August - 1pm - 3pm
Monday 14th August - 1pm - 3pm
Monday 21st August - 1pm - 3pm
Tuesday 29th August - 1pm - 3pm
Ideally, young people will attend all sessions but we understand if this isn’t possible and would still love you to get involved! Participation is completely FREE and open to young people aged 14-19.
To find out more and sign up, please email louise@everydaywigan.org.uk by Thursday 27th July.
Project delivered by Everyday, in partnership with the Museum of Wigan Life. Funded by Museum Development North West with support from Arts Council England.
