Digital families is a programme of FREE creative, digital workshops for families to take part in together across Wigan and Leigh Libraries. There’s a variety of different-themed workshops running from 12th Feb - 23rd July with a host of fab tech savvy facilitators!
Stop Motion Animation
Join us for an afternoon of animation! We will be using plasticine to create our own characters and backgrounds, then learning how to animate them using Stop
Motion Animation. Session run by our own workshop facilitator, Emily.

Introduction to Beatboxing
Have a dance and make some noise as we learn and use the basics of
beatboxing to tell a story with Renegrade Beatbox. Expect microphones, a loop station,
speakers, story time and lots of silly sounds. Session run by professional beatbox performer, actor and creative practitioner, Renegrade.

Join us for an afternoon of coding! You’ll learn all about Micro:Bit and how to code your own flashing message! Session run by our own workshop facilitator, Louise.

Digital Masterpieces
A fun and vibrant workshop using a blend of traditional art techniques and digital tech to create beautiful art works inspired by a still-life scene.

Code a Game in Scratch
Join us for an afternoon of coding! You’ll be taught how to create your very own game using the computer programme, Scratch. Session run by our own workshop facilitator, Louise.

Minecraft School
Families will be invited to explore the digital space of Minecraft together as a creative tool. The young experts will be tasked with teaching the adults how to create structures in the game. Session run by participatory maker, Gemma Potter

The Digital Families workshops are designed for all ages but under 8s will need assistance with some elements. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times who is willing to participate! Booking is essential via the link provided above.
