Do you know your way around a computer?
Are you creative?
Do you want to make a difference in your community and support us to deliver digital workshops across Wigan & Leigh?
We’re seeking volunteers to support various events taking place until July as part of our Digital Imagination project.
Maybe you could help out with:
Digital Imagination Club - Our weekly group for 11-16 year olds interested in getting creative with tech. We’re looking for people who have a good knowledge of digital creativity and programming to help our young people develop personal projects.
Digital Families - We’re delivering a programme of twelve digital workshops for families across Wigan & Leigh libraries. The programme features beatboxing, animation, coding and electronics. We’re looking for people with enthusiasm (digital skills are a bonus but not necessary) to help get families involved.
STEAMFest - We’re running two STEAM festivals in Wigan & Leigh libraries during the Easter holidays. The festivals will be open to all and will feature drop-in activities, displays and workshops with artists. We’re looking for people to act as a point of information for families attending the events - no digital knowledge required, though it’s a bonus!
You’ll gain experience working with young people and families, meet professional artists and practitioners, and have the satisfaction that you’ve helped make good things happen in your community. Help out as much or as little as you like!
